All commercial and most domestic espresso machines are equipped with a steam wand, also known as a frothing wand. The reason of calling it a steam wand is that it essentially allows the passage of steam from the boiler. The main use of the steam is to froth milk, hence the name frothing wand.
The Classico is equipped with the classic metal steam wand connected to the boiler through a regulator to control the flow of steam. At the end of the wand is a removable steam tip with a micro hole for restricting the flow of steam to a sharp gush to create turbulence in the milk for micro foam and to heat it up as well.
